Volunteer Activities
The Mid America Museum of Aviation & Transportation would like to thank all of the volunteers that work countless hours to help keep the museum running and up to date.
Darlene Spears - Helps run the museum during the weekends
The Bartels and Grimm families who helped with the rose garden and the 232 Planters.
Lindi Kiple - University of Iowa intern and home town is Sergeant Bluff - for her internship work on museum history educational displays.
Carla Edgington & Kay Crowl - Painted and updated displays throughout the museum!
Morningside College - Into the Streets teams - They cleaned windows and cabinets. They also pulled weeds from around the museum.
John and Pat Bartholomew - They work every week as front desk volunteers and they also perform B17 research.
Terry Hudson - Does the painting around the museum.
Rick Alter, Gary Grasma, & Jim Loftus - They helped with the Parade Plane, and Rick has been very active with restoring and donating vehicles for display.
Verna Shockey - for always stopping by and helping where needed.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Mid America Museum of Aviation & Transportation
The mission of the Mid America Museum of Aviation & Transportation requires the support of many talented and dedicated volunteers from around the states of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. These volunteers come from a broad range of backgrounds and contribute their innumerable talents to achieving the museum’s mission. Volunteers can be found throughout the museum organization, sharing their knowledge with visitors, building and maintaining exhibits, restoring aircraft and surface transportation vehicles, preserving historical artifacts, assisting with the museum’s day-to-day administration, maintaining and working with the museum’s research/reference library, and carrying out research.
