Plan a Visit

Are you in Sioux City to visit family or attend an event, stop by and see us.  Spend 1 - 2 hours.
If you are looking for a cool place and need a space for a private event - a Journey to the Air Museum is just what you need.

Plan your visit to the air museum.

ADMISSION is Free - but Good Will Donations help support our museum.

HOURS - Thursday - Saturday, 10 am - 4 pm

PRIVATE TOURS  are available by appointment.

PARKING is free.

Buses have plenty of room to drop off, park, and pick up visitors.

Most visitors take a couple of hours to walk through the museum.  Although our most avid fans, could spend at least half a day reading through the many stories.

Location & Directions

For FIRST TIME VISITORS - the air museum is located in Sioux City, Iowa on the north east corner of the Sioux Gateway Airport.
To get to the Mid America Museum of Aviation & Transportation from Interstate I-29 Exit 141:
Turn off I-29 at Exit 141, go west toward the Sioux Gateway Airport.  Turn right (north) on Al Haynes Drive. Turn left (west) on Expedition Court to the museum located at 2600 Expedition Court.  The air museum will be on your left.  It is about a three minute drive once you are off the interstate.

Al Haynes Drive doesn't always show up on Google or Apple Maps. And in some cases visitors have been directed through their GPS system to a block away at the Fed Ex Ground center on Al Haynes Drive.

Look for small square Air Museum signs to the museum.
