ROAD TRIP IOWA features the air museum!
MOVIE NIGHT & STORYTIMETHANK YOU to Kevin Blosch, Executive Director and Kay Goldsmith, Happy Volunteer, for starting two new summer events. Movie Night was offered during the summer on a Friday night as a free family activity. Jolly Time Popcorn was a sponsor for the popcorn and many families enjoyed coming out to the 727 and watching movies together. Kevin loved having new families find the museum through this activity. "I want to do it again - maybe even a special winter event but for sure next summer. Having Jolly Time Popcorn support Movie Night was a hit. I think the Top Gun and Maverick was our most popular night."
Kay Goldsmith, happy volunteer and writing tutor for Morningside University, was responsible for beginning a new Story Time. While just a few families came to enjoy her reading and the stories, she will continue to look for ways to reach out to families. Kay is always singing while she rolls around and greets our visitors - thus the "Happy Volunteer" moniker. "I want to inspire children and parents to read together. I've always enjoyed books and ready as well as helping college students write better. The air museum library was a major project I worked on two summers ago, and this reading project is an extension of my interests in helping the air museum attract more visitors." THANK YOU KEVIN AND KAY FOR THE NEW ACTIVITIES! Thank Yous
