Siouxland STEM Festival - April 9
Thank you to Mary Trent and her board, the 185th ANG, Morningside University for working together with the museum for a one day event to teach area 6th - 12th graders about STEM careers.
44 Teachers, 15 Schools, 458 Students,
109 Exhibitors and Volunteers had 27 Learning Stations
It was a great day at the airport.
Major Bain Black
Thank you to Bain and Karen Black for their donation of an original oil painting of 66-15187, the Huey he flew while in active duty in Vietnam.  He was also on hand to tell his story while serving in Vietnam with the Special Forces 281st Assault Helicopter Company. Read more here.

Susan White, Mitchell Simmons, Derek Fitch
Thank you to Susan White and her fiance Derek Fitch, both United Airlines International Pursor and Captain for making our 35th anniversary very special.  Dr. Mitchell Simmons presented his research recounting the events in Flight 232 from the perspective of Susan White, one of her first experiences as a flight attendant.

The Gilchrist Foundation
Thank you to The Gilchrist Foundation for funding the newest improvement to our grounds.  Because of their generosity, we were able to relocate the United 232 Memorial Garden.  The new green space sits on the edge of Runway 22 and gives our visitors a place of comfort and reflection.

Siouxland BIG GIVE
Thank you to our supporters who helped fund student scholarships for the STEM Camps. We will make those scholarship funds available next summer.

35th Anniversary of Flight 232
Thank you to all who came to our special presentation with Mitch Simmons.  We closed the 35th Anniversary of Flight 232 by honoring the 112 who lost their lives with a new garden.  Everyone was invited to place a stone.  Susan White placed the first stone in honor of flight attendant Rene LeBeau who was 23 in 1989, from Schaumburg, Illinois.
