Ryan Lihs of Sioux City will bring his 1929 Prospector New Standard D25 to the SUX FLY IN and Pancake Breakfast May 4 for everyone to see. The Alaskan Airways plane was restored by Ted Davis of Wisconsin to airworthiness, only one of a few barnstormers still flying. Ryan acquired Prospector in the early stages of restoration. The story of a 1931 crash while in service in 1931, the various rescue trips including a dog sled team near the Iditarod Trail, the family who owned it and brought it back to Missouri, and Davis finding and restoring the aircraft piece by piece in Wisconsin.
